Introduction to Humanitarian Emergencies

This in-person and online course introduces different types of humanitarian emergencies and how the humanitarian sector responds. The course also dives into the different health concerns and interventions, from food security to mental health to communicable and non-communicable diseases to violence prevention in varied humanitarian emergencies. Gender, Armed Conflict, and Climate Change: Key Issues, Interventions, and Policy Solutions

This Gender and Health Summer Institute online course explores women and girls’ safety and wellbeing in humanitarian emergencies and how gender equality is inextricably linked with peacebuilding and environmental sustainability. The course focuses on skill-building for research methods, monitoring indicators, data and analysis of key gender considerations. (Co-instructed with Dr. Shatha Elnakib).
